INSTALLATION & SAFETY INFORMATION
Your safety matters to us. Please read these guidelines carefully before installing any lighting product from Kaito & Co.
1. Professional Installation Recommended
All our lighting products connect to mains electricity. For your safety and to comply with UK regulations, we strongly recommend installation by a qualified electrician — particularly for ceiling lights, hardwired fixtures, and any work involving mains wiring.
2. UK Electrical Regulations
Electrical installation work in the UK must comply with Part P of the Building Regulations. A qualified electrician will ensure your installation meets these requirements.
3. What's Included
Each product includes the light fixture, mounting hardware, and installation instructions. Electrical specifications are provided on the product page. Bulbs are not included unless stated. Professional installation, wiring components, and consumables are not included.
4. Before You Begin
Please check the following before starting any installation: confirm your home supply is 220–240V, ensure the ceiling rose or connection point is suitable for the fixture, and verify that the mounting point can support the weight of the light.
5. Safety
Always switch off power at the mains before starting work. Do not handle wiring with wet hands. Do not exceed the maximum rated wattage for your fixture. Ensure proper grounding at all connection points. Do not install in bathrooms unless the product is rated IP44 or above.
6. Installation Checklist
Before switching power back on, confirm the following: power has been switched off at the mains, the existing fixture has been removed safely, wiring has been checked by a qualified person, the mounting bracket is securely fixed, all connections are correctly insulated, the fixture is mounted securely, and bulbs have been installed.
7. Bulbs & LED Compatibility
Bulb type, wattage limits, and LED compatibility are listed on each product page. Please refer to the individual product for specifications before purchasing bulbs separately.
8. Warranty & Installation
Our 12-month warranty covers manufacturing defects only. Damage caused during or as a result of installation is not covered. Qualified electricians typically carry professional indemnity insurance that covers installation-related issues.
